Lots of Exterior Work

The recent rain is causing some delays on the work outside, but it's really coming along.

The exposed aggregate on the back stairs is complete.

And they're working on the exterior walkway.

The fascia is being installed as well.

Here it is along the showroom, with black on the bottom and white on top.

The crew dug a trench for the new sprinkler system and power out to the sign.

The cement for the front entrance has been poured.

They're digging up the old cement for the new Service Drive-in.

Back inside, the showroom is nearing completion.

Down in the Service Department, the tile work was completed.

and the Cashier area was painted white

Plus, the bathrooms are almost done! These will be much bigger than our current ones, and the women's bathroom will have a Baby Changing Station.

Next up is the Entrance Element (the front entrance arch),
which will be delivered tomorrow. We can't wait! Very soon we'll be looking like this -

Progress (So Far) This Week

It's only Wednesday, but there's already been a lot of progress made over at the new dealership!

Our Service Department is really taking shape. The new doors and the frames for the glass walls are in,

and the glass was just installed yesterday.

Now they're prepping the floors for tile.

A lot has been done with the tile floors. They grouted the bathroom tile that was installed last week,

and durable vinyl tile was installed in the tech locker-room and up in the shop employee break room.

In the Showroom, the tiling crew began to tile yesterday.

By this afternoon, a lot had already been completed!

Now they are tiling the walkway from the end of the stairs to the Service Department doors as this is a high traffic area.

The charcoal wall was painted in the Customer Lounge over the weekend, and looks nice.

Outside, the side stairs are complete, and the area is being prepared for exposed aggregate (decorative finish that looks like a pebbly surface).

We should have more updates soon. Everything is happening really quickly now!

More Painting + Ceiling and Tile Install

Painting continued this week with the Customer Lounge. The paint contracter is priming the area where the TV will go. This will be the same charcoal as the accent stripe in the showroom.

The drop ceilings were installed. The tiles and lighting won't go in until all the tiling is done as to avoid dust from cutting tiles.

The walls in the bathrooms are painted and ready to go, so the next step was to install the tile.

The lighter tile went on the floor, with the accent tile going halfway up the wall.

Once it's dry, they'll grout it.

Lastly, they started preparing to tile the showroom floor. They put down product to level the floor for tiling. We'll have 16 tile installers coming on Monday, so it should go quickly.

We can't wait to see how the showroom floor turns out! It's going to be stunning.

Showroom Walls & Windows

Progress on the showroom continued this week with the office walls going up.

Once the walls were up, the glass went in.

Here's what the showroom looks like now -

The next step will be tiling the showroom floor!

Other projects from this week included painting the stone exterior to the showroom,

and putting the front doors and glass in.

Previously, the only entrances to the showroom were on the sides. We removed one of the large window panels to install this doorway. Now there will be a grand entry in front!

Painting the Showroom

Last week, the painting of the showroom continued. These are the colors we will be using. Like many things, they are selected for us by GM for a uniform look across all the Buick GMC dealerships. The colors are white, tan, and charcoal.

First, the walls were primed.

The upper portion received a tinted primer because it will be painted the dark charcoal color.

Then the painter began spraying the colors.

Here's the finished upper rear wall color with the finished white ceiling. It looks really sharp!

All the office walls have a rear accent wall of tan.

 We love it so far!
