Forms & Frames

Since it's been a lot of moving walls, lines, and other infrastructure changes, we haven't had a lot to update you on lately. However, we're starting to get down to it and finally have some noticeable changes to share!

First, they poured the forms for the two new pillars that will be in the grand entrance.

Then, they removed some of the glass in the show room to make way for the new entrance. Both of the pieces being removed weighed 350 lbs each!

Now the front is temporarily boarded up.

On the side of the building, they poured the footings for the stairs.

Inside, the construction crew started putting up the frames for the shop walls. This wall will enclose the area for the Service Writers. It will be climate controlled with big windows out to the Service Drive-in area.

Here's a panoramic of the framed out Service Area. It is taken from the door into the Service Drive. On the far left is our Service Manager's Office, followed by the Service Write-up area. Straight ahead is the shop.

New Quick Lube Hoists & Other Remodel Updates

The contractors have been working away next door, and made some great progress. We basically gutted the showroom and offices, so there are a lot of structural changes that need to be made. It's not glamorous, but it'll make the place really come together.

There's a lot of activity happening up in the Show Room.

We're moving around supports so we can change the layout of the walls.

For the General Office, they moved the support beams to make a straight wall.

And this will be General Manager Steve Doll's Office. It doesn't have any outside windows, so there will be windows in front opening to the showroom.

Steve keeps a close eye on the remodel project.

Outside, they are digging the foundation for the new front entrance.

Down in the shop, they're taking down the Service Manager's (Rob Smith) Office to rebuild it bigger so it does not cover the windows.

As well as pouring concrete for the new Service Drive exit door.

And we're already using the shop space with PDR guys fixing hail damage.

Finally, the most exciting update to share was the arrival

and installation of two new Quick Lube hoists! We've never had these before and are really excited for them!

Thanks for checking in on our remodel!

Cutting Holes in the Wall & Other Updates

Here's what they've been up to next door the past few week.

If you recall, our new building is going to look like this -

But to get to that point, they need to take off the existing front to make way for the new one.

Here, they are taking up the concrete to make way for the new entry and arch.

Inside, the south side Showroom ramp was removed, and concrete poured to make the area level.

The stairway and ramp from the Customer Lounge to the Showroom was completed.

They worked on moving support poles from the middle of the Men's Bathroom to between the Men's and Women's Bathroom.

Back up in the Showroom, they took down the main wall to straighten it. The New Car Manager's Office will be right below the beam.

Outside, they made a really big hole in the shop wall. This new hole will be for the new exit door in the Service Drive-in.

Lots of progress has been made, but there's still lots to do before the Grand Opening this summer!

Prepping & Pouring Concrete

Things are starting to come back together next door, so we have lots of photos to share. The latest project has been finishing up the plumbing and pouring concrete.

This is the Showroom entrance from the Service drive. Before, it had a step up on the side and was much steeper. They demolished the old ramp,

and poured concrete for the new ramp. We'll use this ramp to bring in the vehicles for the showroom floor.

To give you an idea, this is what it used to look like-

They also poured short walls for the sides of the ramp,

and put up forms for the ramp and the step at the bottom. The step will face the door to the cashier and Retail Parts counter, and the end of the ramp will be towards the Service write-up area

As you can see, the ramp continues around the corner, and ends by the Service Department

They finished plumbing the drains for the Customer Lounge bathrooms and the drinking fountain.

And then on Friday, they started pouring the concrete for the bathrooms.

The plumbing for the Coffee bar was also installed, and the concrete will be poured soon.

After all that demo work, it's nice to see things starting to come back together!
